As part of its commitment to minimising the environmental impact of its activities and operations, Parkdean was keen to investigate the potential for energy efficient lighting and invited Envirolux to develop an energy efficient lighting scheme for the facilities at Southerness, a park located on the west coast of Scotland.
These facilities included restaurants, kitchens, bars, nightclub, shops, leisure areas including swimming pool, as well as office and staff areas. Working with the local management, Envirolux’s detailed survey work allowed the design of a solution balancing energy efficiency and fitness for purpose with minimising maintenance, utilising a mix of Envirolux’s LED and T5 high frequency fluorescent lighting.
With a solution delivering savings of over 60% yet meeting strict payback criteria, Parkdean then asked Envirolux to develop solutions for a further 14 parks nationwide. Completion of this survey work, coupled with a flexible manufacturing capacity allowed Envirolux to meet Parkdean’s desired installation programme.
Completion of this initial phase will deliver savings of over £60,000 just on energy costs, along with a reduction of 360 tonnes in carbon emissions each year.
